Since 1996 S. D. Marine has been synonymous with supplying the
Maxi performance cruising yachts from Sweden in the U.K. and
Ireland. They filled the market niche for quality yachts with a
Swedish stamp. With Pelle Petterson designing them performance
is assured, but with easy handling for the family, a winning
combination.
In the early days the Maxi 999, a 33 foot yacht was doing well
on the club racing circuit, S. D. Marine could see the appeal to
the UK sailor. Shortly after the Maxi 1000 was introduced by us
and verified that view, selling 10 in the first year and after
winning the Offshore race sales shot up. Over the years new
models have been introduced but the objective of performance
cruiser has not been lost. The quality of the interior does not
detract from the performance but does retain excellent
second-hand value.
Maxi Yachts are exhibited at all the major International boat
shows, the most important UK show is the Southampton
International Boat Show. We also hold a winter boat show
displaying our Maxi Yachts here at Hamble Point Marina. And a
summer bash in May.
We sell many second-hand Maxi’s here in our boatyard as owners
move up through the range. We have one of the best locations on
the South Coast, with nearly 100 yards of floodlit walkway the
boat are easy to access, we open 7 days a week. This is a side
of the business where we are very active, marketing the boats
both on the internet and magazines as well as mailshoting
perspective owners. We offer some unique facilities, for
instance, buy-back, tuition, deliveries both by sea and land
giving us the opportunity to offer The Complete Service.
